Ruby’s Gotcha Day!

Friday
Mar 21,2008

Yesterday Ruby and I quietly celebrated one year of being together. The anniversary of the day you adopt is called "Gotcha Day". I don't know when Ruby's birthday is so I'm glad we have this special day to celebrate. To me, it's more important than her birthday anyway because really, March 20 2007 was our lucky day. I can't believe it's only been a year - I honestly don't remember life before her and definitely can't imagine life without her. And goodness knows I am always looking for reasons to shop for her! And so we did. We stopped by Bark & Fitz and, for her GDay, I got her an Eco Nap Dog Mat (mentioned in a previous post). It fits perfectly in her crate and is really cozy, especially considering it's made from 15 recycled plastic bottles! I also got her a new Orbee Ball and some Easter treats from the bakery. Ruby is such a sweet pooch, she deserves all the gifts and treats in the world. Happy Gotcha Day Ruby Rubes!!!

We all know what it's like to have a dog bring us a ball to throw for the 1000th time... and while I don't believe there's a substitute for good old fashioned human dog interaction, that thing is pretty cool!

We love these West Paw Easter toys! I won't buy Ruby a plush toy anymore though because in a matter of minutes she'll have de-stuffed it and be grinning at me with the squeaker in her mouth. If she wasn't such a chewy Boston I'd for sure pick up a Honey Bun (pictured). How cute!

Awesome cat product alert! The Fling-ama-String is a battery operated cat toy that flings a string and entices the cat to play. It hangs on a doorknob, has two speeds, and is said to provoke even the laziest of cats! "Like having a purrsonal trainer for your cats" (groan). Watch the 1-minute video of cats playing with the toy. Funny!
