Sailing in Kingston!

I went sailing in Kingston Ontario on Sunday. It was my second time sailing and lots of fun. I love to sniff the air off Lake Ontario. The part I didn't like was when I was put in the water. I was held by my life jacket handle but it was still scary. Also, the water is cold!

Lost yet another friend... this time we had to say goodbye to Kelsey, my grampa's beloved dog. Kelsey was a sweet dog and was loved by everyone who met her. She was an wonderful and loyal companion to anji's dad and lived a full and happy 16 years. RIP sweet Kelsey. Say hi to Mona and Lucy and Brewster for me.

Ruby’s 4th Gotcha Day!

I've been with Anji and Matt and Kyle and Blue for FOUR YEARS today! To celebrate, we went to the park and I got a big spring donut cookie!

This year sure has had its ups and downs...
I made lots of new friends, including Lola and Brock, I lost a good friend, got new wheels, drove the RV, lost my uncle dog, had LOTS of pictures taken, went to Woofstock, dressed like a pirate, went on a few road trips, had a house guest, went to a princess party, had big bad lump, someone made a mosaic of me, and more!

I have such an amazing life. I really am the luckiest pooch on the planet. ♥

Rest in peace, sweet Lucy

On Monday I lost my dear friend, Lucy. Those that know me know that I'm more of a "people dog" than a "dog dog". I have very few, select doggy friends and Lucy was one of them.

When visiting family in eastern Ontario, we always stay at Mountainview B&B, aka Lucy's house. The humans love going there for the fancy breakfasts but my favourite thing was stealing Lucy's toys, and her dinner, and her giant comfy bed. Lucy had such a gentle spirit, she never got mad at me.

Trips to Mountainview won't be the same and we are all going to miss her terribly. Rest in peace sweet Lucy.

Halloween 2010

Halloween was extra fun this year. I went to three events!

First was the henderson bas Halloween Round-Up. There was a costume contest, including Best Pet Costume. I wore last year's pirate costume.

Guess who won!!!

Next was the Boston Scarier Halloween party at Urban Dog. I wore my spider dress at this one. This was my favourite costume (tied with my boyfriend Jake, dressed as a sheep)

I was so happy to see my bff's Diesel and Gizmo.

After the Boston Scarier Meetup, we went to the small dog Howloween Party at Doggie Central. I wore my Martha Stewart Spider dress but didn't win the costume contest. S'okay, I had fun anyway.

My favourite costume from that event was the pug who dressed as a grape.

Goodbye Brewster

Last weekend we said goodbye to my grandpa-in-law's beloved dog, Brewster. He was a big, sweet black lab named after Brewster Lake where Poppa got him. For 12 years the two of them were the best of friends and they really represented and displayed that special bond between a man and his dog.

We had the memorial without Poppa, who's 96 now, because he was still too emotional. We read a few poems then each of us shared our favourite memory of Brewster. Then we buried his ashes in a spot near other family pets that have passed.

RIP sweet Brew-Dog.

Bushstock 2010

To celebrate Matt's 40th birthday, anji had a big party up at the farm.

We took the RV. I love the RV.

There were a bunch of other dogs there but they mostly didn't bug me.

There were a lot of kids there too. I kept a close eye on them. They tend to drop their food and because of their small size, it's easy to snatch food right out of their hands.

I basically oversaw the festivities. Everyone had a really good time!
