CAT:

  1. Pick cat up and cradle it in the crook of your left arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of cat's mouth and gently apply pressure to cheeks while holding pill in right hand. As the cat opens mouth pop pill into mouth. Top 20 family pets

From dogs and cats to cows and gerbils, Pete Wedderburn lists his top 20 family pets. I would definitely change the order of preference, but it's a good list. Remember, a pet should fit comfortably into your lifestyle and suit your own preferences. Never get a certain type of pet if you don't have the correct environment for it to live in or because it happens to be cool at the time. I wish I could have all of those pets (except maybe the stick insects)...

Is your dog fussy?

Mine is. We've tried many diets for Ruby including vegetarian , raw, muffins, you name it. We've tried countless kibbles and she's turned them all down except for Orijen - 6 fresh Fish and she turns her nose on that one frequently now. To keep her interested I would top off the kibble with a variety of high quality, presumably delicious, canned foods, in particular Merrick canned. But lately she's been fussy about that too. Spoiled pooch! I can tell you though that there is one thing that Ruby will devour every time... Tripett. Yes, green tripe. Yes, it's stinky and gross but she just loves the stuff.

No jumping!

Does this scenario sound familiar? You're dressed to impress, ready to leave home for an important business or social gathering. You're about to open the door when your dog-who doesn't want you to go without him-jumps up on you, leaving smudgy paw marks and pet hair on your best clothes. Feeling exasperated, you raise your voice and shove your dog away from you, which does nothing to change his future behavior and quite possibly leaves him feeling a little confused and with hurt feelings in the present.
